Welcome Snapchat Spotlight on Your Feed

In the race for the biggest audience reach, Snapchat presented a new feature – Spotlights snaps. On the tab, you can find different videos counting up to 60 seconds.
Spotlight is located under a separate tab, and when you click it, you enter a page created by the Snapchat algorithm based on what you might like. The page works based on what you’ve watched previously and how long you interacted with the video. Users already can share the Spotlights they have liked the most on their Snap Map. Although the feature greatly reminds TikTok, it doesn’t have an open comments section, and you cannot visit a profile of the Spotlights’ author.
Users can create their Spotlights and upload them onto the main page. The company has claimed that some authors will even get paid for promoting such content. Before uploading your video to Spotlight, you need to record it on the main tab of the app via the Camera button. When your snap is created, tap the ‘Send To’ section and select ‘Spotlight.’ You can use GIFs and Lenses to make your content stand out, creating fun and engaging videos for people to see.
To reach more people with your video, company developers advise you to add a #topic on the Send To page; this hashtag is used to connect creators from all around the world. On the Spotlight page, you can actively like, bookmark, or send videos to your friends. It is not confirmed yet, but there might be a limited amount of videos you can send to the Spotlight tab.
Currently, the feature is available in 11 countries: Australia, the UK, the US, France, Canada, Germany, and others. Spotlight will arrive on other devices with further updates.
Do you think Spotlight is better than the TikTok page? What other updates can Snapchat bring to its app? Please, share your ideas in the comments below.
