We Might Not Get Cyberpunk 2077 in 4K Image

Even though CD Projekt Red promised to bring 4K resolution to Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox Series X and PS5, as far as we can see, it probably won’t happen.

After some patches were released, technical experts analyzed the performance of the game and claimed that even with current next-gen updates, Cyberpunk 2077 couldn’t meet the requirements needed to run the game in 4K.

Although it has advanced ray tracing that works smoothly in 1440, most modern consoles can launch the game in such resolution. To reach dynamic 4K graphics, the company needs to improve the performance of the game with more patches and reworks.

Currently, you can enjoy Cyberpunk 2077 in a 1260p to 1729 resolution on PS5, and between 1382p and 1782p for Xbox Series X, which still is a long way for the awaited 4K. The latest next-gen patch is a big breakthrough for the game, considering how many problems it had at its launch.

Despite it being easier to advertise 4K resolution rather than 1440p, there are actually a lot of games that deliver great content without the highest window rates. For example, Death Stranding, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, and Ghost of Tsushima. All of these games run on lower resolution but still look absolutely breathtaking.

Unfortunately, CD Projekt Red was caught several times for giving a lot of promises and not delivering exactly expected with Cyberpunk 2077. The game had its wave of popularity in 2020, and since then, there hasn’t been much more great news. Hopefully, next-gen updates will help the project regain its composure, and we will soon enjoy the astounding resolution on every console, including PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Do you think CD Projekt Red will manage to bring Cyberpunk to 4K? What other patched does the game need? Please, share your opinion in the comments below.
