Are you regularly swamped by a plethora of emails in your Gmail inbox? Well, Gmail for Android has recently unveiled a promising new update aimed at revolutionizing how you manage your inbox, even when you're on the go. This new feature, called the "Select All" function, marks the first time such a tool has been integrated into the mobile app, and it's definitely going to make your life a lot easier.

The "Select All" feature allows users to instantly select up to 50 emails within their inbox or from search results. This is a much-needed breakthrough for mobile users, who often find themselves scrolling endlessly through a sea of emails, looking for specific information. Now, instead of individually selecting mails, you can simply hit "Select All" and do whatever you need to do, be it moving them, deleting, or marking them as read.

The update is currently rolling out, and Android users can download the updated version of the Gmail app from the Play Store. This function, though new to mobile devices, has been a staple on the desktop version for quite a while. The ability to select a maximum of 50 emails at once mirrors the desktop version, which might seem like a limitation, but it's a tool we constantly use, making it a welcomed addition to the mobile app.

But this isn't the only recent upgrade Gmail has made to its mobile version. In June, Google announced the arrival of its AI-powered "Help Me Write" tool to both Android and iOS. This ingenious tool, previously only accessible to Workspace testers on desktop, assists users in drafting email replies. You can either edit a completed email or provide a prompt for the tool to draft the whole email, which you can later edit for length and tone.

However, it hasn't all been smooth sailing for Gmail's mobile apps. The company has faced accusations of limiting usability by incorporating ads into user's inboxes. They also received backlash for removing the red icon that appears in notifications to indicate a new email on Android devices. Despite these criticisms, Gmail continues to innovate, bringing user-friendly features to enhance the experience for its users. The "Select All" feature is just one of the many ways Gmail is ensuring that you get the most out of your email management, no matter where you are.
