New Report Says Mobile Data Usage Increased to 10GB a Month Image

According to a recent report, an average person uses 10GB a month of mobile data. And, there are several reasons why this number has increased. The information comes from the annual report compiled by Ericsson and provides more details on why this happened.

One of the main reasons for the data usage increase is the fact that 5G technologies have become more prevalent. Moreover, there are a number of countries in which smartphones are used for the Internet a lot more often compared to laptops and computers. This includes countries, such as India, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and more. The average mobile data usage in these countries is around 15-19GB a month.

Another factor that played a role is the popularity of mobile broadband routers. This can be explained by the fact that such routers are now able to match the speed of the average cable packages and all thanks to the improvement of 5G. They have become more commonly used in Western Europe and the United States, especially when people were working from home during the pandemic.
