Hideo Kojima is back with another movie review, sharing his thoughts on Deadpool and Wolverine with much enthusiasm.
The renowned game creator recently watched Deadpool & Wolverine and shared his insights. According to Kojima, the film transcends the usual boundaries between reality and fiction, creators and fans, and even different movie studios and hero films, including those outside the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Describing the movie as a 'Hero-verse' in the era of the 'fifth wall,' Kojima believes it represents Deadpool’s most significant 'fourth wall' moment and sees it as a pivotal point. The reunion with Yukio, played by Shioli Kutsuna, also stood out to him. He reminisced about the impact of seeing Hugh Jackman’s muscular portrayal, which brought back memories from the past 25 years, saying it moved him to tears and affirming Jackman’s lasting heroism.
This film signifies not only Jackman's return from retirement as the famous X-Man but also marks the first appearance of the iconic comic book-accurate yellow and blue suit in a live-action adaptation. Directed by Shawn Levy, the threequel achieved remarkable success by grossing $444 million during its opening weekend at the global box office, categorizing it as the sixth-highest opening for any film ever. Both Ryan Reynolds and Jackman celebrated this achievement on social media in their characteristically meta style.
Deadpool and Wolverine is now showing in theaters. For those who have seen the threequel, there are additional resources available, such as a detailed breakdown of the ending, guides to cameos, Easter eggs, and the various Wolverine and Deadpool variants featured in the film.
