Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1 debuted on December 5. And there’s a whole caboodle of new stuff, characters, and gameplay mechanics to explore.
First of all, Fortnite’s map got remodeled a bit. There aren’t brand-new locations — at least not so far — but some areas got affected by whimsical climate changes.
Among them are Logjam Lumberyard and Greasy Grove that are buried under a thick layer of snow. As the game states, it’s all because of a particularly cold winter.
But some areas of the map are basking in sun and warmth. Namely, Sanctuary where the so-called Seven are residing
The Seven are a rebellious group who swore to “stop The Order, liberate The Zero Point, and destroy The Loop”. We’ve seen them in Fortnite previously. But it wasn’t until now when we get to see them in full composition, with their leader being inspired by Dwayne the Rock.
Your arsenal will also get some new toys. They include:
- Stinger SMG.
- Ranger Assault Rifle.
- MK-Seven Assault Rifle.
- Hunter Bolt-Action Sniper.
- Auto Shotgun, Sidearm Pistol.
The gameplay didn’t see any changes, except for one. Now, you can replenish your health with the Tent. And if you’re playing in a group of two, three, or four people, you get to reposition the campsite the way you want.
Previously, data miners spotted that seagull models were added to Fortnite. This led to speculations that a new tropical biome might become a part of the game’s mini verse.
However, the new fauna didn’t debut in this Chapter. Some suspect that a tropical addition might follow later to smoothen the harsh coldness that we can observe in Greasy Grove.
Odds are, seagulls will appear later, bringing new hunting quests and areas. So far, you can instead hang out with Spidey. He is an unlockable character in the battle pass this season.
