According to Eurogamer and Video Games Chronicle (VGC)—both with reputable histories for accurate Nintendo reporting—new information from multiple contacts suggests that the successor to the Nintendo Switch won't be seeing a release until sometime in early 2025, having slipped from its initially anticipated timeline of late 2024.

Among the contributory factors, it's suggested that Nintendo requires additional time to refine its own suite of games targeted for the premiere of their next console. This postponement also hints at the Nintendo Switch 2 mirroring the original console's release pattern by potentially launching in February or March.
